CHARACTER NAME: Rainpaw
GENDER: Tom-cat
AGE: 6.5 Moons
ALLIANCE: Thunderclan
RANK: Apprentice
PERSONALITY: Rainpaw is a silent little tom with a very curious nature who prefers listening to speaking. He'll suck up everything he hears like a dry sponge getting dripped with water. He just wants to know everything. Thanks to his pretty good memory, he can remember those things pretty well and recall them at the moments he needs them, except when he panics, but that's a story for later. This good memory goes along just fine with his seemingly endless curiosity. Overall, he's an eager apprentice who wants to learn everything as fast and best as possible.
But, his shy and silent nature is crippling for this little tom. Even though questions are often nagging and buzzing through his mind, he's afraid to ask them most of the time. This leads him to trying to figure it out himself, frustrating him beyond belief when he just doesn't get it. When he gets frustrated to the point of breaking, he'll ask the question to another cat. But not before contemplating the risks about asking it. Is the cat nice? Will the cat snap? Does the cat know the answer? All those little things need to be figured out before he can finally ask his question.
Does he get asked something and he doesn't know? He'll go into full blown panic, even though he'll try his hardest not to show. One thing he hates even more than not knowing anything, is admitting that he's wrong. Even though he's very shy, he's stubborn as hell and won't let a case rest quickly. If you can get him engaged into a discussion, he'll sink his fangs in it and won't let go of it until it's said he's right, even though it's against all odds. When he gets beaten in an argument, he'll go into sulking mode for a while until he thinks the matter is forgotten. After that, he'll act like nothing has happened.
Even though Rainpaw can seem pretty modest, and maybe he is, but he also isn't lacking that much confidence. Due his quietness and shyness, it can seem he's unconfident, but he's still very sure of himself when he thinks he's right, then he's just a bullhead. The only things he isn't confident of, are his practical skills, like hunting and fighting and his social skills. He feels like the only feature of himself he can really trust is his mind.
HISTORY: Little Rainpaw was born to a loving mother and a strong, kind father. He was the only kit in the litter, but he didn't mind that much when he was growing up. He had a lot of playmates in the nursery, and he got the undivided love from his parents. He loved his parents, and was most of the time found near them. He was pretty pampered, but still pretty shy. Engaging in play fights? He'd rather sit near the elders listening to their tales. He didn't like his upcoming apprentice ceremony for that reason, so many responsibilities! He was already getting frightened when he thought about it. What if he couldn't hunt? What if he couldn't fight?
Everything went smoother than he expected however, he got apprenticed and the skills were easier than he thought they were. But, the responsibilities really crashed down on him. He felt like he was floundering in the dark, open ocean without any pawhold. He just didn't have enough information about everything to really feel comfortable with his new tasks. So, slowly he started collecting the information he needed and now he's slowly settling in.
